DCAFV Members
The Dunedin Collaboration Against Family Violence (DCAFV) is a group of agencies that are working together to address family violence in Dunedin. We are active in the community to raise public awareness of family violence and the services that are available to help people address violence within their own families.

Our Goals
- Support agencies working with whanau/families experiencing family violence
- Raise awareness & increase understanding of family violence within our community, and promote the violence prevention & support services of member agencies
- Ensure collaboration between government and community agencies to support agencies in providing effective family violence services
- Ensure community ownership through local government and community agencies working together to address family violence
- Provide education and resources to support agencies, communities and whanau to prevent family violence
Our Network Organisations
Adventure Development Counselling
Counselling and skill development for young people (13-20 years) who are experiencing difficulties including alcohol and/or other drug issues.
Promotes the health & wellbeing of older people through advocacy, education and social services
Anglican Family Care helps families to identify their own strengths and resources in times of difficulty and stress to achieve positive outcomes.
Support whanau using an integrated and collaborative approach to service provision in partnership with whānau and other organisations.

Barnados
Unfortunately Barnardos is no longer with us in Dunedin.
Counselling, social work support and parenting assistance to individuals and families irrespective of religious beliefs or ability to pay.
A free, mobile counselling service, for children under 14 years, operating in Dunedin.
We help families help themselves, and team up with many different groups and people so that families have the support they need to help their children thrive.
Our lawyers and advocates can give you free initial legal help so you can deal with your legal problem quickly.
Providing advocacy & support for adults, children & their families, and The Hub, a place for parents with children up to six-years.
Family and social work, advocacy, budget advice, counselling, group support and parenting programmes, mentoring and youth transition programmes.
Changing attitudes and behaviour that tolerate any kind of family violence.
Mirror offers counselling & treatment programmes for children, young people & their whanau.
Provides education, social, health and advocacy services to all Pasefika communities and people within Otago.
Provides support services for the development, health and well-being of children under five.
Provides free and client-focused practical assistance, information and advice during pregnancy and early childhood.
Helping older people to be happy, healthy and safe.
Support female survivors of sexual violence progress towards healing and programmes to educate the community about the effects of sexual violence on women and children.

Relationships Aotearoa
Unfortunately Relationships Aotearoa is no longer with us in Dunedin..

Providing of culturally competent support services for women, children and families of Asian, African and Middle Eastern origin.
Maori Health Provider that provides community–based health and social services that are conducive to meeting the needs of Maori.
Te Whare Pounamu Dunedin Women's Refuge
Help for all women and children experiencing domestic violence including crisis line, emergency safe housing, education and support.
Assists people affected by crime and trauma by providing advocacy, support and Information.
Supporting our staff to work with patients with family violence issues.
The Family Violence Intervention Programme enhances Work and Income’s response to people who are experiencing family violence.
Community support for people of all ages, focused on the needs of youth by providing support, counselling, education& facilitation.
